| I was just curious how long some of you have entered challenges before you rec. a ribbon? |

Took me 4 challenges. In them days there was only 1 challenge a week.

I joined in July, 2004, and finally won a red ribbon on April 5, 2005.
By the way, Todd, that ribbon picture of yours is one of my favorite pictures of all time!!!!! I've always wondered how exactly you did that.

Currently 14 months, 2 weeks, 6 days, 59 challenges and still waiting.
I've been in the top 10 five times, but never in the top 5.
You know, it's like they say, "always a bridesmaid, never a bride."
(On the up side, one does get used to the comfort of a middling score, after awhile.)

I had a lucky streak 2 weeks in a row
11th entry - 2nd place

A little over 2 months (15 challenges) for the first ribbon, then one month (and 9 challenges) later I got the 2nd one, then 7 LOOOOOOONG months and 55 more challenges before I got the 3rd. Now, 4 more months have passed, and I've entered 20 more challenges, and haven't been closer than 5th. I hope this doesn't extrapolate exponentially or else I'll be waiting for a long, long, loooooooooooooooong time for the next! ;o)

Took me just under 6 months and 15 challenges for the first ribbon. Another 10 challenges and a month to get the second. 9 challenges and 2 months to get my third.
It's been 7 months since my last ribbon :( I'm a hasbeen! |

| I was lucky and got a blue ribbon my first entry. Of course, one of the comments on the photo was: "First entry, first ribbon, first blue - no where to go but down!" Very true, I've only gotten one other ribbon. But then again, I only enter a few of the challenges. |

closest one was a 6th place for the 70's challenge!
After that, only low scores.... |

6 months to get a yellow
another 6 months to get a red
so I have another three months for a blue ;-)
average over the 66 challenges is 72% with 6 out of the last 10 hitting top 20. I appear to have improved over the last few months. I hope I can keep it up.

One month and three days and the fifth challenge for my first (and only) blue.
Nine and a half months and my twenty fourth challenge for my next (and only other) ribbon.
Apart from that, I've been crap :-)

| 36 cahllenges, 14 months and still no ribbon. But I have had one top 5, two top 10's and five top 20's. For a new photographer I'm happy with that for now. But watch out, my ribbon is coming! |

1 year and 27 challenges for my first, and a month or so and 2 challenges for my second. I don't get to enter as many challenges as I would like to.

15 challenges for yellow (about 7 months)
23 challenges for red (about 9 months)
53 challenges for blue (about 19 months) |

You are an amazing talent. It's hard to believe that it took you that many entries to get your blue.
68 challenges for me to get a yellow. I didn't really ever expect to get one. |

timely question :)
10 months/40 challenges for my first and only ribbon.
Will most definately not ribbon in the current challenge (Fantasy World)
I was getting 6+ scores around december/january when I sold my 10D and only now starting to get the hang of my 20D and get decent scores. |

3 months (29 challenges) for a Blue.
Has been 3 months (25 challenges) since then...
Hopefully I counted all them rows correctly. ;^)
