DPC has some very good photographers submitting shots, I wish I was one of them..
Maybe something could be done to run an online training forum that would give technical ideas and tricks that make a great composition.
I find that this is one of the hardest things to get right!
What does everyone else think??

Under the "Learn" menu in the top bar, there is "How'd they do that?" and "Tutorials". I would say start there.
Gordon and one other that I know of have discussed (and recently posted in the forums) an idea to have workshops here on site. Stay tuned for that. Otherwise, you could always post an example in your portfolio, and set the link in here for instant feedback on particular issues.

There are a lot of good books on photography and the basics of composition.
You could try 'How to Take Good Pictures: A Photo Guide by Kodak' for the basics and then maybe 'Learn to See Creatively' by Bryan Petterson for discussion on the basic components of a good composition.
Get those, try out each of the ideas in each chapter and you should be a long way further on. If you know how to use a camera, then maybe skip the first one, though I'd guess a lot of people could use most of the info in that one. The second is great if you work at the themes in it.
