No, I am a 9er too. ;)
I think it's because I am conditioned to look at the titles of pictures, and here it's down there where the 9 is located. Or maybe I'm warped. ;) |
OK we can be the warped women of DPC! |

8
Edit:
I did the test and replied before reading any other responses at all.
My eyes went straight to the 8.
I'm right handed.
I have an LCD monitor and no problems seeing the numbers at all.
I'd like to see versions of the test for portrait and landscape shaped rectangles.

I saw the 5 first, but the window didn't open into full screen.
Don't you just hate that? |

Most everyone See's 2,8, or 5. My Theory is if you put your focal point or subject near these areas more people are out to see it quicker thus making it pop out at them. Possibly increasing a users score by a fraction of a point if not more.
Notice how just about no one looked at the bottom 1/3 of the picture and just a few at the Right 1/3 of the picture telling me in theory that putting your subject in those area's could result in a low impact picture. This is all theory but it is interesting!
Of course we have to take in account the quality of the picture and how strong the subject is. I theorize that if you take the same picture and place the subject in a different location you would alter the score because of it's placement.

The angle I was sitting at (about 25 degrees off center on the right of my keyboard) I saw the "8" first). |

can you put the image back? I didnt see any numbers at all until I calibrated - now I want to check it on the screen that I vote with. My black point seems to be fine according to this animated link. |

I wonder if you tried this on an Arabic, Chinese or Japanese group whether you'd get the same result......top left bias might just be because we automatically direct our eyes there to start reading text. |
