I included a quick snap of the entire scene just to give you an idea of how I composed it, the lighting and the environment. Any suggestions as to how I could have improved this shot would be greatly appreciated :)
Cheers,
Alex

Nice job... It took me forever to get my first "waterfall" shot (with the length of exposure, lighting, etc.) and I STILL don't have it down pat. :-)
I think you did a great job capturing the water - not too much reflection or noise. Thanks for posting the original too. I think you could include more of the pool in your crop (the cropped version is a little too tight for my tastes - especially when you've got that beautiful pool and some nice greenery around it to include). Also, it seems to me that the shot could be straightened just slightly.
Beautiful place & shot. Where is it?

That's at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens here in Cape Town, I have quite a few other shots that I could play around with, thanks for your advice. I was so paranoid about getting the new camera wet but I think if I go back there I'll also try get a low angle...possibly closer to the waterfall as well.
Thanks again for the advice :)
