I've never attempted to take a picture of a car before, so I thought today waould be a good day to start... I looked around on the web for ideas and technique, and this is what i canme up with. It was also a good excuse to use my new 50mm MKII. I'd appreciate any comments ya'll have...

I am no car photographer...but here are some things you might try for next time...
1. Be sure to position the car (if you have that luxury) or yourself in such a way that there are no things "growing" out of it, such as the light pole in the background.
2. If the background is unattractive and you can't move the car or move yourself to fudge it a little, perhaps some creative PS work to eliminate things that distract or detract from the car itself might be in order.
3. A circular polarizer could help you with cutting down glare and reflections on the glass and other shiny surfaces.
The angle is nice and dynamic...I agree with ladyhawk22. Good first attempt. Keep taking more and more pics, because that's the best way to learn! :o)

Nice shot. Great angle. Sharp.
I've tried many pics of cars and I find that the most irritating aspect of them is always the background. It's impossble to take pics of "whole" cars without some irritating piece of background creeping (unless you can set them up in a "studio" environment). So I've now defaulted to taking pics of car bits and details rather than the total beast.
Reflections can be a pain but are manageable. |

I agree with them too. I might add, you may not have realized it but you have at least three wheels in the shot too. Almost a necessity. |

I like it alot, not a real sexy car, but you really did a great job.
No offence to the car, of coarse. :)

I can control a lot, make that most things, but the weather and my crappy car are two things out of my control...
btw, I fixed the pole sprouting from the top of the car...

next time before you take a pix of this particular car, make sure you first chop, drop, and shave the car. Add some air bags, get some spinners, a bitchen paint job, a flame thrower, dice on the mirror and a dog in the back window that bobbles its head.
Nice attempt other wise.
