Question...

In the game of chess, why is the queen a better piece than the king?

This has been on my mind for a while now.

Thank you.

simple...if you were the last person on earth, would you rather be stuck with a king or a queen?

The king is based on Henry VIII (fat and slow).

She has the sheer power to kick ass all over the keyboard!

Well it didn't used to be. The queen originally moved like a bishop. The queen is not a better piece than the king... without the king you cannot play the game. The game CAN go on without queens on the board.

Might help...

We all know it's the women who rule the world, anyways ;)

Cheers

Is your assumption correct?

When you lose your king, the game is done.
The queen is powerful...but is that the same as "better"?
Many classic chess games sacrifice the queen and can still win with certain remaining pieces...

The queen is swifter, versatile, and (perhaps) ruthless in defending her king and kingdom. She may even be altruistic in self-sacrifice to achieve the same end. But I ask again, is your assumption (premise) correct?

>>and the real answer to your question is that she's a she and all she's are better than all he's...of course.<<
