Hey, I think i saw Gordon (wasn't sure but my friends were moving fast and i had to keep up... the only other person i saw with a 70-200mm L lens and looks kind of like you on 1st street bridge) -- should've taken a few snapshots and enter it into the multi-image challenge :) "Gordon the Photog Examined" |

Here's a shot -- i couldn't get close to the stadium and my 70-200mm lens is too short, but here's an interesting one... this guy is part of the Flying Milkcows and i think he got hurt hitting his head on the platform:
He jumped off but his design didn't go with him.... i think he's OK though but hte program did pause for about 15 minutes after that.

I got a shot of it as well. It was pretty funny watching a bunch of idiots jump into Townlake, it's the surest way to get a stomach infection drinking that water...

Do you mean shooting it or actually doing the triathlon? :-)

Good luck dude... just don't drink the water. I find it interesting that they wouldn't allow you to eat the fish you caught from the lake, but you are allowed to swim in it!!

They make a big deal about the water purity (as long as there hasn't been a storm recently - in fact there were plans to build a swimming area at auditorium shores)
Uncropped, straight from the camera, just resized (and not very good)
1.4x extender and a 70-200

It's not bad... I guess even a 300 mm lens wouldn't be close enough to only contain the aircraft. Probably need 600 mm.
Here are the milk cow series (this is uncropped just resized... too many people in front to see the splash down):

It might be cheaper if you learn how to sweet-talk your way into front row seats. Btw, that guy in the white t-shirt in the center front, abt 2nd or 3rd row, he looks huge. This is entirely irrelevant but i just thought i toss that out since that's all my eyes focus on now. |

Yup, the website had press passes going - you just need to find a good affiliation to get down to the front row seating... |
