These were taken at her aunt's old fashioned home. She's one of my favorite clients (her wedding is 7/23) because she told us from the start that she hired us for an artsy look, for our particular style - so I felt FREE - free to be me and that she'd like it! :D Her fiance is from England and he likes traditional style, she likes traditional and artsy/new - so there are the photos!

Thanks for looking,
Matt

Thanks Deannda! This was actually (secret coming) my FIRST bridal portrait shoot. I did one engagement shoot, I've shot a couple models before, some portraits - but this was my first hurrah with a bride, dress, ring...the works.

:)

Thanks!

Nicely done. I think #1, #2 and #5 are my favorites. #2 is very interesting, I love the effect. Both #1 and #2 feel like a paintings.

Good work!

Thanks David! I put 71 of these in her online gallery - she gets ... ONE. lol I hope to get a large reprint order. ;) Hopefully she likes the effect.

Dr.Nick - I saw your comments on the photos and I thank you for taking the time to write them. What I do with the pics is leave them as wide as I can so that if they choose it in 4x6 or 5x7 or 8x16, I can just crop it all from one master document - so you are very correct - the tops and sides will be shaved if possible. In some sizes, I've found that making the crop too tight limits the sizes I can offer.

I love numbers 4 and 6..but the color of the flowers appears too saturated to me in the 3 and 5 pics.

I think drnick has some good suggestions about the cropping. I love the oldtime feeling these have. The color toning on 4 is lovely but the lighting coming from underneath does give it more of a spooky feel. If not for the lighting, that would be my favorite, then the first one.
Congrats on your first formal bride shoot. Hope many more follow.
edit: wrong photo number changed

Thanks Pat. Actually, if you see my above post - I agree about the cropping, but I can't finalize the crops until they order the pics. Then I crop it based on 5x7, 4x6, 8x10...all different ratios. :)

I'll put up some pics from my second bridal shoot (was yesterday as well) as soon as I get them done - starting those later this evening!

Like usual, it took me to long to type, so I didn't see the previous post!
What kind of light did you use for the 4th one? All of them for that matter.

The first picture is just window light with a reflector - the reflector aim at the lens/hand so it shows up.

The second, third and sixth picture are taken under a doorway/patio. It's just shade, nothing else.

The fifth was direct sunlight on her veil to blow it out, turning her head so she wasn't squinting and we could see the details.

The fourth picture was lit using a deer light like you buy at home depot. I actually saw the exact same picture on Parker Pfister's site and wanted to replicate it. :) I know it looks a tiny bit spooky, but I don't think her fiance will see it that way. hehe

Thanks again!

Hi Mav, left you some comments - take them with a grain of salt - I've never shot a wedding. :-) Hopefully they are helpful to you. Great work there and I can't wait to see the 2nd set of photos.
