Nice, I used to work the vending at that race. It's quite a long day, especially for the riders who have to do 150+ miles. I also was stationed right at the top of the Wall last time I worked it. Didn't have a camera as it was years ago, too bad really!

Cycling is a hard sport to use auto-focus on. You'd be better manually focusing or using zone focus. Typically you'll want to shoot when the front wheel is in focus to get the rider sharp, assumping they are moving at a decent speed. |

Thanks for the advice, I can't imagine people who are shooting races that involve motors!

Yes, jousting is a sport. Where did you take that shot? It's a good one. And because of the way the splinters are flying in the air, I'd like to know what exposure settings you used? And what camera and lens? |
Thanks! Took it at the Georgia Renaissance Festival, Nikon D70, Sigma 105mm lens, f/2.8 at 1/4000th second in aperture priority. Conversation about this and another from the joust in this thread.

this doesn't really count but I just found it in a folder with a bunch of old pictures of me. this was the ref (Bart Guyer) talking to me before my debut NHB/MMA fight! (which I went on to lose) :(
NHB = no holds barred
MMA = mixed martial arts
