A fellow in Hollywood chose this for his Rolls Royce plate: RCH FKR |

None or N-A , if you can get it. it will really confuse the cops when you get pulled over. But the DMV in your area may have it blocked now. I heard of a guy on a motorcycle had NONE and when he got puled over and they called in the plate, it came back a not a valid plate, said it did not exist. then again it could be more trouble than its worth

When California first introduced personalized plates in the 1960's, my dad thought of what I still think is the best one, which I still don't think's been taken:
BIG EGO
Congrats on the Prius -- it's fun when you have a passenger unfamiliar with the technology, and you get to a stoplight and the engine turns off. |

You cant make it too obvious or else you'll miss all the weird expressions people make while trying to work out what your plate means. I've seen people stop in parking lots and do the head tilt thing while just staring at it. And people at traffic lights are interesting too. It's kinda cruel but fun! |

What's on there is a Maryland non-resident 60-day temporary tag, so no-go on that.

In Az we have only a rear tag, and can put whatever we want on the front. I left my VA tag on the front and it says PHOTO.

If I ever spent the money on a custom plate I would make sure it's complicated and doesn't actually stand for anything...so here are some suggestions that will make people crazy:
KT8 2TR4
WKRY 4T
CRT2 MP

Same here in Florida...only one plate and it has to be on the back...in Oregon we were required to have two. Another thing (I know off subject) in FL you have to register every year whereas in Oregon it was every 2 years.
btw, I have a perosnalized plate but it's just my nickname for Colette: Coly :)

The car is a black 2005 Toyota Prius. The tag can contain up to 7 letters and/or numbers, PLUS up to one hyphen or space. The tag may not be three letters followed by 4 numbers.
Any suggestions?

Boy am I jealous Terry! We've been on the waiting list for a new Prius for awhile. What kind did you get - which package - and how long did you have to wait to get it?
How about
SIPSGAS
ENVIRO
GOTMINE
CMRANUT
FOTOCAR
HIGHMPG
CAR4ME
LITEETR
GOESFAR
SPEEDY
FUN4ME
Mine is "PTKITTY" and is a PT Cruiser. When we trade it in we'll most likely take whatever they give us for the new Prius.
Good luck and enjoy your new car.

I'm afraid I'd have to go with POUNCER, but that's just me. ;o)
edit to add: CJPRIUS or MYPRIUS or something along those lines too.

Thanks!
I got the Prius with Package 4, which is one of the standard packages available in this area (i.e., not one that has to be custom-ordered). The dealership where I bought it is the highest volume hubrid dealership in the 6-state area, and as such gets a larger allocation of Priuses than anyone else in the area. They actually get enough that it's now possible to walk in there and buy one, though it's almost always package 2.
I needed a new car as a result of an accident, the dealer understood that if he couldn't have a car for me in a week, I'd be out of the market. He was able to call in a favor, and get a car from a sister dealership that wasn't already spoken for. He had the car for me within 20 minutes of my call.

They've been around long enough you can now get them used ...
