The strangest thing happened to me this morning. My E-10 would not power up. I had been shooting and all of a sudden it goes blank,no response. I changed the batteries and got nothing. I tried four different sets of batteries including a set of brand new ones, and nothing. As I was ready to call Olympus, with their $395 minumum charge for repair, I tried one more time with a set of cheap alkaline batteries. The camera powered up and is working fine. I even tried several of the other batteries and all is well (at this moment). I was working in a fairly clean environment and checked all that I could for dirt or foreign objects on the contacts and all of it looks just fine.
I was just wondering if any of you have had similar experiences.
Thanks for any input you may have.

It sounds to me like you may have had a heat related problem. The camera could have shut itself down for an overheating issue of some sort and when it cooled down enough, it started working again... how long had the camera been on and in use when it shut down?

John,
Sorry to take so long to get back. I don't think this was the problem but I hope it was. If you know what I mean.
Thanks for the help.
