		| | My current favorite is The Third Man (1949, Carol Reed). Here are some other favorites in chronological order
 Sunrise (1927, F.W. Murnau)
 The Cameraman (1928, Buster Keaton)
It Happened One Night (1934, Frank Capra)
The Four Feathers (1939, Zoltan Korda)
 Sullivan's Travels (1941, Preston Sturges)
Shadow of a Doubt (1943, Alfred Hitchcock)
A Matter of Life and Death (1946, Michael Powel and Emeric Pressburger)
All About Eve (1950, Joseph Mankiewicz)
Singin' in the Rain (1952, Gene Kelly)
Night of the Hunter (1955, Charles Laughton)
 The Train (1965, John Frankenheimer)
 Annie Hall (1977, Woody Allen)
 Pathfinder (1987, Niels Gaup)
 Topsy-Turvy (1999, Mike Leigh)

It's not that I don't enjoy many popular modern movies, but just that the average quality has been in decline for the last 40 years.

Hmm ... decline in quality movies ... your age ... hmm ... There must be some connection between your birth and the decline in movie quality. It's all your fault!!

		| | Just throwing this in since we just watched it this weekend and REALLY enjoyed it.
 Miracle

It's about the 1980 US Olympic hockey team. Normally I don't like to see movies where I know the ending - but this movie really surprised me. Good family "feel good" movie. Of course it helps if you're a US citizen. ;^)

Not sure, since it's still in production. My guess is late fall, since the last update on it's progress was in Sept, 2004. I'm keeping an eye on it, though!
