Ok, I've waited long enough to see someone try to make this happen. I tought I would try to gather the troops.

Anyone interested?

I live in Val-d'Or, but I often go to Montreal. If there's a GTG there, I surely be trying hard to be part of it. I will follow this tread to see what happens.

Val D'Or? I'm originaly from Rouyn-Noranda! :-)

Simon,

I did read your profile and noticed it. Do you sometimes come back to Abitibi?

I hope you will get some responses for this GTG in Montreal, this surely would be fun.

I moved in 1983, I went back once 3 years ago. Still a beautiful town where folks take the time to live. I may go to Val D'Or soon actually, I have a friend that moved from Noranda to Val D'Or. I happened to run into his father last time I went and he gave me his e-mail adress.

So yeah, I'm sure it would be fun... I was thinking either old port or Mount Royal on a Tam Tam sunday...

If anyone else from the area has better ideas, you're more than welcome to suggest it.

I was in Montreal last week for a business trip, I had an afternoon to spend and went to Mount Royal to take pictures. You can see some below. I was not very please with the results overall, so I would prefer the old port. I have more then enough wild places in my area, I would like to capture the essence of an historic place like the old port and old Montreal. But, where ever the GTG is held I will try to be there.

If you ever come to Val-d'Or to see your friend and have some time to spend, let me know. It would be nice to meet and have a beer downtown.

I tried setting one up last year. Nobody showed up. I had a great day anyway.

I'm very busy these days, but I'll definitely try to make it.

I was thinking doing it when it's conveniant for everybody. Late june early July. The Jazz fest would be an awsome time.
Let me know what you guys think. We're in no hurry, let's plan this well and actually make it happen.

Jazz fest works for me... ! There's definately lots of cool stuff to shoot around that time.
