My outtake never got taken in the first place. Don't see an outtake thread, though, and since there usually is one, I started this to post my TRIANGLE idea that I wish I had found time to shoot.
In my town of Winchester, VA there is a cool, cool old '50s diner called the Triangle Diner, so named because it sits at the intersection of 3 streets. It's claim to fame is that Patsy Cline worked there as a girl. I intended all week to get over there and see if I could work up a shot that featured a triangle of some sort, and include the diner for additional interest, but I've just been too busy. Anyway, for any diner fans, here's a link:

(It's about 1/2 way down the page.) Good luck in the challenge, folks. |

Went back and forth between this one and the one I submitted. I was SO ambivalent about all my shots on this challenge.

Your entry must be pretty good then philcozz, if that's your outtake. Hard to tell for sure from your outtake photo above, but it looks like the upper right area is solid black, it might be a bit better if you could make out some detail there. Overall I like it though. Good luck. |

Yeah, I'm not sure I made the correct call... My submission isn't scoring so well. Oh well.

I pulled this one from the chalenge at the last moment. I loved it but felt it would get blasted because the circle was too dominate. Oh well - got to love a farmer who paints his wagon wheel pink!

A little abstract, if it wasn't basic editing, I would had cleaned it up and gone with it. It makes my eyes bug out...

Triangle Pocket Watch:
Front: Back: Inside: Bottom: Left: Right:
As you can see from these pictures, when the triangle challenge came up, this watch was an obvious choice for me. This was my Grandfathers' watch. I believe it dates to the 1920's. It is a Mason's watch. I believe the bird on the front, under the 12 O'Clock position is a symbol of Phoenixmasonry. A similar watch can be found here:
Phoenixmasonry Masonic Museum
The one in the museum is made of silver, but I believe that mine is made of pewter. It also appears that the front bezel on my watch was put back on incorrectly at some point in time. The triangular link should be at the top. I tried putting on that way, but it is worn so it doesn't quite fit right in that position. I decided to put it back where it was when I got it. I have always been fascinated with this watch and am glad I got a chance to share it with everyone.

Ah, I remember seeing that watch in the challenge 2shay, a really cool family heirloom. Good timing too, with the recent dvd release of 'National Treasure'. Thanks for sharing :-)

Ace-cool pic, left a comment.
Riot- You definitely made the right choice with the shot you entered! Great photo.
Philcozz- I like that shot. It has good lines and I like the vanishing points there. I agree though, maybe a tad bit of detail in the black would be an improvement?

I think you're right smile, although it is there, I think it would be easy for some to miss.

Sounds cool Nova, too bad you didn't get a chance to shoot it. Maybe for a future challenge?

I'm going to start out-takes in here
Re-edited from this to this in the last 2 minutes

Which do you like better, which do you think would have done better?
Now I am regretting that last minute reedit. I blame it on my stupid perception that literalists would vote it a 1 for having more then one triangle. Arg!

Thanks Nordlys. Exactly. I'm a big Bugs Bunny fan. I actually wasn't aware of the other origin of the word. Hope nobody took offense, I sure didn't mean to.
Maybe I should have said I am a maroon rouge :-)

Thanks... I'll go back and bring up some of the black. Maybe my outtake would have done better than my submission's 4.403. Oh well...
