I took this shot a few years ago and with some of the techniques learned here, I enhanced it some. I want to know if you think this is good, bad or needs more work...
thanks!

My take on it is that although it's much more dramatic than the original, the way the reds have been oversaturated makes it look a bit artificial. I'm not a great fan of overprocessing of nature images, but different people will probably draw their lines in very different places. |

Might be a bit over-saturated. The original looks a bit sharper then the other also. If I were to do anything I might desaturated from the middle to the upper right.

yes, I was thinking that I perhaps overdid it. Just want to get a feel for what others think.
As far as using photoshop to enhance images, I am quite the novice. |

Can I desaturate just a section? or should i let the reds down a bit on the whole image? |

over enhanced IMHO, I prefer the original...but wouldn't mind a touch of the revised added to the original.
Puma's is also nice....maintains the elements of the shot better IMHO |

thanks saj
I am still learning photoshop, which is why I brought out this pic to test with.
I don't really know how to do much, like how to saturate or desat just one AREA of a photo... you know?
I am learning, I'll give it another try later :) |

Saj - I think you certainly improved on the original a lot. It's very dramatic (I personally like heavily saturated colors). Puma's version is really cool too. I'd also like to know how that was done.
This site (and almost everyone on it) provides such an incredible learning experience! I have trouble getting off the computer to go take more shots (much less work at my day job)! :o)
