I would've given the Bar pic a high vote - but the second one is less interesting.

I think both are interesting, but might need a bit of work if you were going to enter them.
The Bar pic is missing a framing element on the RHS, and the frame is very ovberexposed. There are some spots on the windows. I am not sure that you needed the reflections as well as the frame to indicate "window" (may be able to dial these out with a polarising filter). But otherwise I like!
The green doorway is a little grainy on the interior elements, and I would consider making the crop either tighter or looser - at the moment, to me, it feels a bit in between. Thinking about it, I like the grain on the interior - nice contrast with the exterior. Pic is missing a point of interest, but is a ncie, relatively abstract piece (though I note that these tend to do less well in voting).
Overall, I would have scored your entries each a 5 as they stand (I am generally not a very high scorer). Both have technically good elements in them, needing a bit of post processing. The more interesting photo, the bar, has more technical issues than the green door. With a bit of post processing work, they could go up a notch for me (this is always an issue in the member challenges, which I think makes the scoring in them that much tougher).
Hope this does not sound too harsh: I very rarely go to 7 or 8, but to get that much from me, I like to be a little more captivated by something in the photo than I am here. I like to reserve the 9 & 10 spots for truly stunning photos!
Good luck with your submitted photo! |

[quote=messerschmitt]
i changed the title to coffeeshop as it was a coffeeshop
the older man in the middle of the pic who was in a wheelchair was preparing a joint
they say it has medicinal value..
(though i like a drink im not sure about alcohol's medical values just to put the subject a bit in perspective)

I didn't submit this ... and my entry isn't doing so hot.
I went a different way, but I still thought this looked cool. |
