Great interview, very very interesting. I'm a bit ashamed of not having known Zeus yet...

Missed this earlier. Very enjoyable indeed. Many thanks...
BTW are these no longer Dan's baby then?

thank you for interviewing one of my favorite photographer here. I am always intrigued by his impeccable use of words with such wisdom and vision. I had read his old bio in portfolio atleast a dozens of times and was sad to see it replaced with a shorter version. Glad to find it in his interview once again :) Thanks.
One thing I find missing in interview is an introduction to his poetry. I know its not a poetry website as such but I am sure beside his viusal poems, his poetry would be something worth reading too. Any considerations???

That was a good read. Intelligent questions, interesting answers.
I'm curious about how the interview was conducted. Did you actually speak in real time, or were the questions submitted to Zeus in writing?

I would normally combine internet "chat" with e-mail questions, but ZZ requested that this be done entirely by e-mail, and that's how it was done.

This interview is simply IMHO amazing. I've always read Zeus' forum posts and thought to myself, what a complex man, but now I realize that I may have been wrong. There is such a simplicity to his vision and that, I am begining to believe, is what makes him such a strong photographer. He can take the complex and break it down into the simplest elements and then convey only the necesary. That is a skill that many of us need to understand and strive to achieve.
Thanks to bear for all the hard work behind the scene and special thanks to ZZ for allowing us to see his version of the world...

So much wisdom flowing out from the mind of such a respectable man. Your wit and candor have so much eloquence as your subtle photography. I am awed. Remember your promise...you were to write something ifever (a big "if") I get published. The whole DPC community is now my witness.:)
Thanks Rob for moving on with this series. MORE please.

"The energy wasted and lost here, IMO, could better be invested, if it were understood that an emphasis on topicality existed for the creative benefit of the entrants and not for the righteous glee of the uninitiated." Quote from interview.

Thank you all for being so kind, which did surprise me. My attention was turned from DPC to other things for a spell, and I hadn't followed this thread at all.
I have, indeed, not been banned from the site -yet, found no contests, boo's, hate-mail or disputes in my mail box and, upon close scrutiny, escaped unscathed -very much unlike after submitting a photo to a challenge sometimes or posting an opinion.
I enjoyed doing the interview with bear, although, for a while, I thought it was going to be published posthumously. ;-)
I do hope Dan and/or others keep the interviews alive as a site feature, as it affords us a view and a voice not otherwise provided for.

It is comforting to think that there are those on this site who are not about rules of thirds, straight horizons nor USM; but are seeking the emotions that sometimes only the eyes may introduce. I put shots in my "favorites" list based solely on their stimulus, with no regard to the author. It was no surprise to have reviewed my list and found a ZZ in there.

A most enjoyable read. The point of view here is very well focused but above all it is the images that speak so loud and clear. A great interview with a very enjoyable flow. Good work Rob and good work Zeus.
