I was at the beach today, and happened upon 2 huge whales migrating near the pier. I really wanted to get a good shot of them for the Fauna challenge, but I just couldn't get them to pose, hold still, and say cheese. Or to stick more than just a little bit of their bodies out of the water at a time. Anyway, here's a picture of what I did get of one of them (picture isn't very high quality--he was only up for a moment, and I had to just shoot away to see if I got anything good).

Would have been great, though, huh, if I'd gotten one of those huge tail shots like National Geographic!

That would be exciting to see this. I don't see very interesting animals, but it is probable everyday stuff to you. I sure hope you can find one that has his tale out of the water.

Can see why you didn't submit it though. And I'm fed up with wild animals not posing properly too. And they move about. Unless you actually want them to. And quite often just don't show up at all.

To be honest, I doubt it would have done well. But congrats on such an exciting experience!

| I just can't wait to get a better camera so I don't have to sit on the little animals to get a close up. |
