way too non-dpc but I like it

shoehorned, but I consider nostalgic to be a mood

Really like the top one and I think it would have done well after my first look through the entries I didn't see a lot that jumped out at me and said emotion or moods.
The second one probably a little to much shoehorning but I see your meanining.

I liked three of mine...Here are two that I didn't go for. What do you think?

There are things I like about this (the lighting and the crooked picture in the background), but for the most part I'm relieved to have taken a shot that is a million miles apart from this one and, as far as I'm concerned, MUCH better (and different). We'll see if voters agree, but I know this one would've been a bottom scorer.

Here are two outtakes from the "Mood" challenge....i bet they'd have done better than the one i actually submitted.

I didn't HAVE any outtakes. I didn't plan on entering this challenge, but just happened to take about 350 pictures at my daughters school on friday and one just popped into mind when I thought of the mood challenge.

Sorry everyone, no pretty picture to look at in this post.

"Non-DPC" in the sense that voters almost always crucify images with a lot of grain here. But, Laurie, for the record that's a REALLY Nice shot and I'd have scored it in my top tier.

I like the grainy look - it accentuates the mood IMO. It is obvious in this case that this was a desired effect, not a by-product of camera or PS mishandling.

btw, this is my outtake (I ended up not submitting anything in the end)
I realized that my background totally sucks and I ended up not having enough time to reshoot. Reason: see Lauriel's b/w mood photo. I understand...

ps. I should find a prettier model...hehe

thanks bear music.... i am still getting used to how hard the raters are on this site... every competition i have been in, and sometimes won,( not website based, art gallery based ) wouldn't stand a chance on this site as it is nearly impossible to have something with a bit of 'difference'..... i am really enjoying the challenge for a change.....
