I need something where I can highlight a folder full of images, right click then choose to convert them from say .bmp to .jpg or resize them all at the same time. Does a program like this exist? thanks

thanks guys. My laptop is in the shop and I am on my old desktop with 128mb ram so doing the batch processing thing (which my microsoft image pro 9 will do) will only freeze my pc. I will check out the breezebrowser right now, thanks :)

IrfanView has a simple batch processing function which is pretty flexible and allows you to do pretty much anything. It's also very fast. Edit: and would work very well on an older PC without much RAM.

I was going to mention DIP but 128M of RAM - nevermind - nothing work is going to work in that space. You almost need a command line utility with no GUI.
You must be struggling...
