My suggestion. (in case you didn't guess from the title...)
a 24 hour challenge on the 4th of May.
Take a picture with Star Wars in mind.
On the other hand if it came along i have no idea what i would attempt...

You mean you don't have a Chewbacca in your neighborhood?
I have a neighbor that could pass for a close second. :)

Now, if that Challenge was modified to a "Science Fiction" challenge I'd be in your corner in a minute. I'll duck for cover, after I say that while I've been reading SiFi for many years, I rarely saw a Star Wars episode. (Anybody remember L. Sprague de Camp? - one of the funniest and knowledgeable SiFi writers of all time)

Could be a SiFi challenge
What about it?

Yes, although my largest collections are of Theodore Sturgeon, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, and old anthologies (especially those edited by Groff Conklin and Judith Merril). For some funny stories try Sturgeon's Uncle Fremmis or It Was Nothing, Really!

Interesting. I remember Sturgeon, of course. But come up blank in my (limited) library. Some of the other great oldies whose books I still enjoy were Clifford D. Simak, A. E. van Vogt, and Jack Williamson - who is, I think in his 90s, and still writing. Glad to have another bay area SiFi fan to toss titles around with.

When did we lose the "c" from "Sci-Fi"? I worry the current version could be mistaken for "Simulated Fiction" -- which better describes more recent punlications : )

Oh my, deja vu. I'm a sci-fi junkie and deCamp is one of my favorites.

I wonder if you and I have been occupying analogous niches in two parallel but slightly different universes : )

We lost the "c" when I briefly couldn't remember how to spell SciFi, went phonetic and lost. LOL

It's certainly possible. Anything's possible. What were you doing in 1967? (This is known as the "acid test")
