Thank you Kylie for being able to see and enjoy and capture life as they are, without trying to change anything and anyone.
Thank you so so much for being such a great inspiration to me and to us all.

What a sweet idea! A tribute thread with a wonderful image to highlight it. Isn't it Kylie who always sees the quality behind the imperfections?
Robt.

OMG - I just came in and saw this. I also have a PM from Jinjit (Adi) which I saw afterwards. You are just too cool for words, Adi. And you have put my work to shame!! I am just thrilled that someone else saw what I did in those shots. Thanks and hugz all day to you, and everyone else for their kindness!

After those wonderful wonderful shots of yours, when I saw this one I just couldn't resist.
I don't think this one is even close to any of yours, but i really did try to get your eyes while taking this one.
I think you deserve all the credit for the inspiration I had for this shot. I don't think I would take it under any other circumstances, and I sure wouldn't have given it a second look.

Kyle is a wonderful photographer, and as much as I can tell never having
met her, a wonderful person. When that comes across so strongly over the internet, then you know it must be so.
I wanted to show this piece of hers, which is one of my favorites (oddly enough, when I went to look for it in my favorites, it wasn't there!).
It's so soft spoken, yet has such depth and tones, just like a wonderful painting:
Thanks Kyle for your presence here.

My God, Neil, I actually felt a tear with that one. My sincere thanks. BTW - the reason you lost that one favorite is that I messed up & deleted it, and had to replace it later.
If anyone is wondering, the photos that Jinjit was referring to are:
She asked how I got my "effect" and I told her a cheap camera, no skill and weird tastes to keep them!

The site is rich with people generous, knowledgeable, helpful, and constructive. When I think about DPC as being a supportive community - one where there is room not only to learn techniques and understand equipment, not only to get critiques and learn by example but also get support when one goes out on a limb and gets a low score in a competition the first person I think of is Kylie.
Notice that she has made 3300 comments roughly 90% of which were found useful. Either of these stats alone is staggering. Together they provide tangible proof that Kylie actively engages at the site often and that she succeeds in connecting with the photographers whose images she reviews.
I am delighted that Kylie shares with us her personal journey in learning photography because it I find it so very useful in informing my own. So thanks to Kylie. And thanks to all who seek to make an equal positive contribution at the site. Know that you are enriching the lives of many. And that we are grateful.
