Just like it states, just would like some sort of guideline to go buy. Do I wear metal golf shoes? Stand under a large metal tower?

Ok just kidding. But here is what I have at my dispossal. I have 2x lens and a .45x wide angle. I have a UV and Polarizer and Flourescant filter. I would try to go for the slow shutter at night and the medium to fast shutter in the day time?

I think I only have about 3 sec's. Would I get the lightning and not the clouds or storm? Or vice vera?

I have no clue, but if you set the selector knob to "M" for manual you can actually get up to 15 seconds exposure time.

Ah thanks!!!! I totally forgot about manual mode. I will hhave to see if that improves other shots that require long exposure time.

I feel like such an idiot.

It took me a LONG time to realize that about my old camera. Don't feel bad. :)

oh yeah, I've never photographed lighting but I'd love to give it a try sometime so feel free to drop some tips after you experiment a bit.

Well I remember reading a review about my camera after I purchased it. And it said the same thing and faulted the manf. for doing it that way. Not allowing all the settins in A and S but allowing them only in M mode.

-------

I got these seting the camera for a long exposure.
First one was set to 13s and the second to 20s.
It was kinda lucky cz there was some sorta opening on the clouds, so I could actually see the bolts, and not only the light!

I don't want to give away a good idea...but it would work for the late night challenge. I have other idea's so I won't be doing one. Just wondering how to proceed if I ever do one.

If you stand under a large metal tower you'll be fine - just don't be in contact with the metal. just about the safest place to be.
