I sent them a letter on cotton-rag paper, off-white of course, 7 pages long, handwritten, in Spanish. I think that's what did it. Off-white will do it every time.
Forgot, it was delivered by pidgeon. Maybe that's what did it?

It should have been pink. And scented. No, wait...that didn't work for me either...sorry. I'm out of ideas. They say third time is a charm, so next time, I'll have to come up with something a bit more memorable! ;o)

Then it must have been when I posted my "real" self-portrait (on my profile) and y'all saw how plug-ugly I am?
Seriously, I think I understand the dynamics pretty well. I'm skilled, I communicate well, I've been a teacher, I don't get riled, I'm a natural peacemaker, all that good stuff, BUT... I've only been here 4 months, 3-and-change when apps went in. Given a pool of equally dedicated, competent possibles, many of whom have put in far more tiem than I have, I'd assumed from the get-go that I'd have to wait my turn. It was heartening to see so many people "nominate" me (means I'm appreciated), but I didn't expect that to carry much weight and I'm happy to keep plugging along knowing people knwo where to find me if they need any help.
