I would just like a little feedback on my entry. I entered this photo before I read up on dodging and burning:

After it was entered (and I read up on some stuff!) I did this.

My question is: Is the second one better, and would it have done better in the challenge, or are they both pretty much the same?

Thanks for any suggestions! :)
Tara

Easy way to remember it tmatiska is when you put a picture in your portfolio. They assign it a specific number. All you need to do is hit the last icon in the post message or type [thumb]insert number here[/thumb]And put your image number between]and[.

I like the one you submitted best. The white background just seems too overblown.

Tara,
the second one shows very clear signs of spot editing, I think you dodged the background, but it doesn't blend well and I can see spots here and there. You can possibly spend some more time to correct it.
As for scoring, the second one ( with some more editing) should score better than the first here at dpc.

As I look at yours and mine, I can see where mine needed some more editing. Thanks! :)

This is such a pristine photograph of a tack that I gave it a 6 based solely on the image quality. The composition to me is uninteresting.
