Any suggestions for places to shoot. I'm running out of new ideas...

Also - any interest in a Central Texas GTG ?

I'd love a central Texas GTG. How many of us are there around here?

Places to shoot... I don't know where you've gone, but I spend a lot of time at the parks around Austin. We've got quite a lot of them: Hamilton Pool, Westcave Preserve, McKinney Falls, all the lakes... a bit farther out is Lost Maples, which I've never actually been to.

There's the Hill Country Flyer in Cedar Park, and Saltillo Plaza in east Austin. Heading out southwest toward Blanco, the landscape is beautiful, with rolling hills and plateaus.

The bald eagles are probably still in Llano, if you've got a long enough lens. I took some fair-to-middling pictures of them with my aunt's scope hooked to my D70 a couple of weekends ago.

I'm always happy to hear other ideas, of course. I get in the same shooting ruts, and new inspiration is always helpful.

There aren't too many (of those that put Austin in their profile)
I'd love to meet fellow photographers from Austin - although I've been recently in short supply of free time between the work and family. But hey, I'll have a good reason to get out and take some photos...

Gordon, I'd normally be the one asking you for cool places to shoot - sorry. One place that is cool this time of the year is driving east on hwy 71 - the sea of bluebonnets makes for a perfect photo op.

Are they still out? I'm hoping to have a few to show a friend of mine from out of town when he gets here next week, so I'm looking for the best wildflower drives.

I think that they're fading dangerously quickly. This weekend may be the last we see of them until next year. I haven't driven down 71 recently, but I've noticed the ones by hwy 620 are fading... indian paintbrushes are still going strong, though.
