Kavey,
I am not in the least surprised that you or any number of other good photographers here at DPC would have images sell at high prices. Your talent and the talent of others here is very high.
DPC voters tend to be very harsh and you should never be disappointed when getting a low score for an image you KNOW is good.
Your image sold high because it is good and for no other reason. Be happy!
Btw, I am incredibly jealous that you went to the Galapogos! :)

Let's not be hasty. I'm willing to consider any offers for her that include a 1Ds Mark II and a selection of top-end lenses :-)

I'm really glad you posted this note, Kavita. It's always great to hear this kind of success story, and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving person, or for a more worthwhile charity. All of your prints are beautiful, but that Tomboy shot is absolutely extraordinary. Congratulations!

Gracias, amigos!
Just to say thanks, I've given everyone who has been kind enough to chime in a comment. Whether you find them helpful is another question! ;o)
THANKS AGAIN!
Now I better go to bed, it's 1.30 am and I have to get over the jet lag ASAP!

Oh, um... I could also do with some advice/ links/ material on converting RAW (any general and specific information) plus advice on what you might cover in a BASICS in Photoshop for photographers.
I have a good idea but more advice would be appreciated.
I'm an IT Trainer by profession though haven't previously trained on PS or related...
I get a discount off the next festival for a) providing training on this for the owner of the tour operator and one of the photographer experts and b) for giving a digital workshop during the next festival. Next festival I have time to prepare well for but they need the training ASAP.
I have a good idea of what to cover but any additional info/ ideas/ material wouldn't go amiss.
THANKS!
Maybe I should post this in a separate thread?
EDIT: Actually, yeah I've posted this in a separate thread. PLEASE IGNORE THIS MESSAGE POST.
