Like droplets and stuff...

For the Tacks challenge I tried to burst a balloon with a tack and failed miserably.

I went through 10 balloons. I used the 3fps burst to get rhythm and popped on the third but missed every time.

Is there a better way?

Movement synchonized strobes, or 300 balloons (or more)and a lot of luck come to mind.
Tough to capture using your finger as the shutter release.

you may need several hundres fps for action that fast.

there was an article in Pop photo on this exact situation.. It talked about all kinds of things.. like a dart with a string attached so it could pull out a pin to trigger a device that triggers the camera. so much work can hardly be fun
