Royal Marine Stuart Lawley stands in a corridor of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s palace at Basra in southern Iraq (news - web sites), April 7, 2003. British paratroopers guarded by tanks and helicopter gunships walked unopposed into the center of Iraq's second city, meeting a warm reception in the narrow streets of the old quarter. Indeed, the Brits are all using the Heckler & Koch SA-80. That's what the guy in the photo appears to be holding.

Doh, your right jimmy... at first glance I only noticed the "bullpup" design of the rifle... steyr-aug was the first thing that came to mind, and the outline of the stock and barrell is sort of hidden... thanks for the clarification.. I guess they don't make a semi-auto version as I have not seen anything like the SA-80 for sale... too bad I bet they are lotsa fun! Also, the brits have some cool camo... gonna have to get some of that! :o)

And to think, I had stopped getting the "rant" forum to get away from posts like this.

whups, this was in Photo discussions... lol at least theres a few photos to discuss.. that being said...

we were just dicussing the subject matter in the photo and placement of probs... if the model had held the rifle at a better angle, we could have seen exactly what he was holding.. the light and exposure really make the gold color look rich as well.. don't you agree?
