OK, so I've been a member for a little over a year now. I had no idea that the site would be this addicting, but here I am turning over some milestone numbers... with the In the Beginning challenge, I've now received over 2000 comments and given over 1000 (yeah, yeah, I know). I've made almost 3100 forums posts without provoking a single death threat that I'm aware of. My profile page has nearly reached a ridiculous 20,000 views, and I've been honored as a favorite by more people than I can afford to bribe. My last challenge entry was a personal best... it's already the 31st most-viewed photo on the site (without nudity), and was briefly the highest rated for my camera. Poetically, my next challenge entry will be a personal worst (despite remarkably similar comments). My camera now has around 27,000 shutter clicks on it in a year (that's over 70 a day).
Whew! $25 annually buys quite a bit of entertainment. So who else is spending an unhealthy chunk of their lives on this site? Besides Laurielblack, I mean... |

i would have to put my hand up for the unhealthy amount of time spent on here. :) This place is literally keeping me sane. I dont work. I otherwise do housework ALL day. So i am so glad to have found this place.

| Im starting to think my addiction has only just begun, whilst not submitting to every challenge, it would be fair to say I spend an unhealthy amount of time just browsing this website. Just as well my boss doesn't look over my shoulder too often.... |

Way too much time I'm afraid. Thank goodness my husband is understanding and supportive (most of the time he even acts interested). So, yes, I admit it, I'm addicted :) Best part is, I don't care, I'm having a great time !

I've only been a member since January 2005, and this has been a great deal of fun! I've learned a lot, taken many pictures, have seen some wonderful photographs and have been inspired many times to try harder or perhaps to see things differently...it is addictive. I find myself drawn to this site if only to check out pictures I've judged and make some comments, read the forums, check out cameras, the gallery archives..it has taken me away from computer games! Is that a good thing?

Laurie, you forgot to include the 26 hours a day you spend chatting on DPC Fanatics. Yes, it's unhealthy. :-P |

I got the best consolation prize EVER!!!!! You guys are tops.
I would have to say for the very very first time in my life I know what i want to do. I have spent my entire life with no purpose for me. I think i am a great wife and mum (that sounded a little snobby didnt it) LOL. I have found something for me. Me time is so important.

Does get addicting hanging around these parts, but has become an extended family of sorts. The educatation and drive to excel has no comparison, and the cost to be a member is at an almost insulting low amount.
So when are you gonna' come back out this way so I can drive you around on the sidewalks or toss ya' into the windshield (again)?

Addicted.... Who me??? Let's just say that I woke up this morning and had a list of a million things to do (leaving for vacation tomorrow) do laundry, pack, get house in order) and here's the outcome..
Washing machine is quiet and empty, not a stitch of clothing in the suitcases and the only thing that got done around the house was the trash being taken to curb and the only reason that was done was... well that's just a given.
Soooooo, a few personal milestones made and alot of fun time spent with camera and chatting away here and a few new friends to add into the mix. All in all, a good time. :-)
Now who wants to come and do my laundry, huh, anyone? Anyone?

I have a confession.
I, too, spend too much time here.
In the morning, before I got to work.
After work, until bed time.
Weekends, from the time I get up until I fall asleep.
I'm addicted.

Scalvert, You started out very good and now you're great! You can be proud of the time you've spent here. As for me, I'm just hanging out. I don't know who or what kind of photographer I am right now. I'm confused. I'm really starting to like the oversaturated digital artsy-fartsy type photos and I'm afraid....very afraid. :)
