I shot these photos last week while I was testing out my new wide angle conversion lens (Sony's VCL-MHG07A 0.7x). All but 710 were with the wide angle lens. I am very happy with it and I can't believe how I managed so long without it. It displays some chromatic aberation and slight softness at the edges but it is well worth it to me to finally be able to get wider shots again.
This brings up another issue and a question. I have both a teleconverter and now the wide angle converter and both require a stepup ring to mount to my camera. No problem there but I find it annoying and a little more time consumming to have to remove that ring in order to put the rear lens caps back onto the converters. Does anyone know where I can get simple lens caps that will fit onto the stepup rings so that I can leave the rings on the converters all of the time?

Beautiful shots Tim.
This site has a good range of lens caps, and it wouldn't surprise me if 2filters did too (though I can't navigate that site to save my life!). |

Oh great! : ) Now I'm not going to be able to resist buying another filter or two. Thanks for the links and compliment Bod.

I'm just wondering why you did go with the vcl-hgd0758 .
It just spins right on I believe. I'm not for sure because I will probably ordering mine in the next couple of days.

That's because the vcl-hgd0758 cost $300 which was too much for me to afford. vcl-mhg07a was $116 from B&H and looked quite good as well. It was the only wide angle conversion lens that they had available for the camera. The step-down ring is no big deal as long as I am able to leave it on the lens.
