I hate photosig. What does that mean they do not allow direct linking, how can they stop it? Control freaks.

Drew, why did you edit it? Does your site have some liablity?

Not allowing direct linking to an image means that I cannot load an image to Photosig and then remote-load that image from Photosig on another page at another site.

The reason for this is that when you do so, your browser makes a request to Photosig for the image, and the image is loaded from Photosig's server. Ultimately Photosig is paying for the bandwith costs and the other site is getting the benefit. This is considered bandwidth theft and could result in potential liability. Many sites take measures to prevent this, but ultimately before embedding an image hosted on one site to a message or web page on another, you should make sure your terms of service allow this.

It is worth noting that you can link to the Photosig page for the photo rather than embedding the image.

In Arni's defense the TOS on Photosig are not very clear on this.

My first reaction is that this is little more than a snapshot, with little of interest in either composition or colour value or whatever.

However, I am looking forward to learning why my vision on this is might be limited.

Nice exposure giving vivid colors and blue sky, yet not losing detail in the girl's dress. Unfortunately it doesn't hold my interest for very long, either, and I think the greens between the trees and the grassy hill sort-a meld together. I do like how her head isn't cut by the slope of the hill, and the position in which she is placed.
