I've been given the opportunity to use a brand new 10D while waiting for the store to fulfill my order of an XT, so I thought I'd break it in today by taking pics of the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the daycare for my Pregnant and Parenting Teen program at my school. I know they all need work but I just wanted to spread a little Easter cheer! :o)

We have our own (cheapie) printer that does a decent job for snapshots like these, and I take/print out pictures for the moms all the time. These students typically might make it in to Wal-Mart once a year for their baby's pictures, so I try to take pictures as often as possible for them. We also help them start scrapbooks so they have a place to put all the snapshots.

Maybe someday I can convince the finance office that I need some $$$ for lights and a backdrop or two. ;0)

Considering I still have snow on my lawn... NO (hehehehe)

Fantistic shots... I am ever so looking forward to those days when the grass is growing and I can go outside "sans long johns", a canadian term which means without long thermal underwear on.

If I were a parent of one of those children I would absolutely love to have one of those pictures,,,,they will be such keepsakes.

Had some time to edit this one more the way I wanted to than I did yesterday. Did I go overboard on the dodging of the eyes? I was trying to make them more vibrant.

I realy like the re-edit. I think the white of her right (our left) eye is just a bit too white. Otherwise, wonderful!

I have money to donate so you can have a photo area for the Teen Moms to have pictures of their babies...
Laurie you are a god send to these kids.. Babies having Babies dont have the help that older moms have, and a lot of them dont have some one like you that takes time to help them out.

Awww... thanks. I have an absolutely wonderful staff of 7 other women who care for these girls and their babies just as much as I do, and together we really hope that we can make a difference in their lives. Keeping the young parents in school is our priority, along with keeping their babies healthy and safe. As for your extremely kind donation offer, Project HOPE would most humbly accept offers that assist our parents and their babies. Since working with this program, I have really learned to appreciate the old adage "It takes a village to raise a child." Truer words were never spoken.
