Ok, so I'm getting murried to N8trchik on Sept 3. I have been desperately seeking wedding photographers so I finally posted some posts on other forums about it, hoping a buddy-ol-pal would show up, give me some nice images, and let me play with them.
In the midst of all this, I get an email from Gino - //www.storybyphoto.com Gino - who says "hey, what's your budget, I'm in the area, I'd maybe help ya out." Now, he knows our budget isn't a Gino-budget = $10,000 but hey, he's willing to help a brutha out, so I email him.
My question (and whine) is "when are you gonna break my widdo heart Gino? When oh when are you going to laugh our budget into the ground?!"
:)
I'm feeling great - about the possibility! And kinda sad about the reality that man I'd wanna be in much better shape before I let Gino's lens touch me.
Gotta go get on the treadmill. Mwah! I'm loving the world.
Had to brag a bit - so that when the world crumbles around me, at least I can say I ALMOST had Gino!! hehehe
Hey Eric L, you booked? ;)

I don't know if a 2 hour drive is unusual for this (he's in Albany), or if it would work out, but we are having Dino take our Bar Mitzvah shots for the second time. At least for those he's shooting all digital and we get to do our own processing. He's great to work with (very easy going) and reasonably priced as well.
Check him out at: Dino's Site |

Storybyphoto..great stuff. I get a sick feeling when I see great photographers like this. It's strange how another good artist can make ME feel like crap.
His packages include Gucci and Prada albums...sooooooo nice. Which would probably make up half the cost of each package (understandably). I can't afford to wear it, but I'm a Prada girl at heart. |

$1800-2500 and I'd really like the original pix for obvious reasons. :)

While his stuff looks good, I'd say there are a few here on DPC that can also achieve that look and feel. I'm sure for each published shot on his website, there are 10s of shots that are sitting in his trash bin. As a wedding photographer looking for clients, your portfolio will make or break you, so of course you only put the best on your site. I'm sure that Mav can find a great photographer in his price range if this one doesn't pan out.

Thanks - yeah I hope so, including one who offered from down your way - TriCoastPhotography? I don't know if you know them, but I know Mike Fulton pretty well. He's a pretty nice guy. :)
Gino's stuff is fantastic. I've probably seen 500 of his shots - not just his gallery but he posts stuff on other sites (like FM) all the time and he's just .... dammmmmn. I'm sure we'll figure something out either way, as you said. I do love a lot of DPC'ers stuff - but not too many of us do weddings or are in NY. (Wishing Eric, you, Julia or pretty much any DPC'er was too)

I'll do it for free if you pay the fares :p
Can't promise that the photos would be of the same quality to the others, but they definitely would be 'different'.

Have a challenge based solely on this one wedding. LOve the idea. Can you picture it.....50 guests and 300 photographers. LOL |
