How do you achieve the effect of a desaturated background with one (or two?) colors still showing through? For example, in this image
(I have photoshop)
Thanks!

Hey! lol, that's my picture.
I can tell you what I did. Although I use a free program called The Gimp. I went to the section which is called hue saturation, and I desaturated all the unwanted colours. It's pretty simple if you think about it.

I don't know what editing program you are using but I will tell you how to do it in Photoshop and hopefully you should be able to translate it to another program.
With your image open go to Image/Adjustments/Hue and Saturation. Then in the Edit pulldown window chose a color you want to desaturate. do this with each color that you want desaturated. As in the case of the motorcycle you will desaturate every color except for the blue channel. Then you may want to increase the saturation a little on the blue channel. I hope that helps.

I am using a pc, AND windows. I should find out which ones I downloaded. my friend puupet10 showed me the right ones to download. He's very clever. And yes, you can actually use it in windows! |
