It's the photographer, not the equipment... ;o)
Isn't it great when you can see your improvement in something concrete like numbers??? Congrats!!!
I had to figure out my stats just for kicks...
1st 5 challenges - 4.8634
Last 5 challenges - 6.1598
66 challenges with Kodak or Sony - 5.4858
17 challenges with the Rebel - 5.9265
I'd still like to think it's the photographer, but having the dSLR has made me have to think about things more and plan ahead so that I don't look like an idiot, at least to myself. ;o)

wow...awesome improvements both of you. I don't think I'd say that the shots I have entered with the rebel I couldn't have taken with the s5100, I think having the dslr makes you think more when you're out about everything (composition, subject, background, DOF, noise/no noise, etc)...or at least I think about that stuff a lot more now than I did before.
