Hi! I have kind of a weird question - I've seen some pictures out there that have a really cool effect. The picture itself seems a little 'drained' of color, except for one spot on the picture which is usually very vibrant. For instance, I saw this picture of two little kids, and while most of the picture looked brown/grey (or shades of these colors), the kids' shirts were a brilliant red. How do you achieve this effect? Probably through a program like Photoshop, right? And if so, how exactly through Photoshop (I use PaintShop Pro - I'm thinking they are almost the same)? Thanks for reading! :)

Are you talking about selective desaturization?

There are lots of ways to do it, it depends on the desired effect and whether or not you're using advanced or basic editing rules, but I'd be happy to PM you the way I did this one. There is a tutorial about one of the ways to achieve the effect in the "Learn" section as well. :o)

Yes, that is exactly what I'm talking about! I would really appreciate it if you could tell me! I will also look it up in the Learn section. Thanks so much!!
