I had an assignment this morning to cover a 'best trick' contest at the local skatepark. There were kids skating in this event between the ages of 8 and about 18 or so. I discovered that the younger kids were the most interesting to watch through the viewfinder. The older kids, obviously, are more talented skaters, but the innocence and desire to be 'good' shown by some of the younger kids produced a handful of wonderful photographs.
"Matt-O"
9-year-old Matt Owens came up a little short on the ramp...

| Terrific shot - can't help but love the look of concentration / determination on his face. The tongue poking out just seals the deal. |

i spent a good part of my childhood on either a skateboard or a bicycle.

Great shots John, I really like the composition/angles you've captured the tricks. That b/w shot of Matt-O is just perfect!!

Wow, fantastic shots. You are quick on the draw. When I take action shots, you see half of the subject in the frame and half out of the frame. :) And it's a little blurry as well. LOL.
