If so, how do I activate it? Ive read the manual and I must have overlooked it. Any help is appreciated!

i assume you mean second curtain sync? if so, its not built into the camera. youll need a canon 550ex, 580ex, or sigma ef500 super. Someone correct me if im wrong.

yes second curtain sync. I know on the nikons, you actually have to set the camera up for it, so I thought maybe I was missing something.

it's not a feature of the camera, but i know you do have it with the 550ex flash.

As the 10D does have second curtain sync .... do any of those firmware hacks that unlock many of the 300D features and make it closer to the 10D enable this?
I have no idea, but may be worth investigating.

But I seem to recall reading not on the 300D. If so, tell me how--I have a 300D and the 420EX! |

You have to put the 420ex in 2nd curtain sync mode and it will work. You can't control it with the 300d. It's done by pressing the + and - buttons simultaneously. This toggles the flash between normal sync, high speed sync, and 2nd curtain sync modes. |

| I'm mistaken on 'how' to set the 420ex to rear curtain sync. I don't have that flash anymore and don't remember the 'method'. The 420 doesn't have the same buttons as the 550, but it should work when you find how to set the flash to that mode. |
