Just thinkin' of Buzz and wanted to let all who've been PMin' me know that I've made it through day 4 just fine. Was kinda hard last nite. I worked my @$$ off at work and just wanted to get home and have one double duece of Icehouse to take off the edge so I could crash. When I got home though, I was so exhausted that I just sat here for an hour and kinda stared at the 'puter screen. Not sure if it counts though 'cause I was too damned tired to walk all the way to the kitchen to get a beer. Don't know if it'll work for Buzz, but I feel much less anxiety knowing that I have a beer in the fridge in case I waver. Last time I went six weeks without and ended up giving away the beers I had. My downfall though was Xmas. I thought I'd given it enough time that I could have an eggnog or two or three or four....

Thanks for all your prayers/thoughts/comments and inspirations.
TC

Edited to add: Hope this don't count as a thread-jacking, just didn't feel right this time starting a new thread...

I have no experience with alcohol, but I used to smoke. I gave up nearly 5 years ago, but STILL get the occasional craving. I will never be a non-smoker, always an ex-smoker. I don't dare have even ONE cigarette - it wouldn't stay at that.

I imagine it must be pretty much the same with alcohol, only worse, right?

I am crossing fingers for you guys that you can stay away from those bottles altogether and find other ways of helping you through tough times.
Hang in there!

GOod to hear so many people actually DO re-evaluate themselves. Some people never try or just don't care to. There's nothing uglier then looking into your own heart and not liking what looks back.

My good friend is moving here from Newfoundland tomorrow, he recently started AA also. He was headed into the military but, thankfully, realized that's no place for an alcoholic. He's 27 and I am so glad he's seen the err of his ways early in life.

Best of luck to all!

Who is your friend from Newfoundland, Do I know him?

It gets easier - both the cigs and alcohol.
Mind you, I think I just replaced both of them with an exercise addiction

You've just got to realise that a slip up isn't the end of everything - just pick yourself up and try again.

Just a little bit of encouragement for anyone who is trying to stay sober or clean. I have a drug and alcohol addiction. On March 20, 2005 it will be my 5th year Clean/Sober.

I think that photography has helped me as an addicted person. It helps me focus on something other then my addictions. It’s funny to think what I would be doing if I was still an active addict. I know one thing for sureâ€Â¦ I wouldn't have a camera or any of my equipment.

Just hang in thereâ€Â¦ and if you need help there is AA and NA. It sure helped me.
