I've taken pictures for Bridges II, but the ones I took today have 3 dust specks in obvious places. Please, someone tell me how I can remove them with Photoshop (PS CS) and still be legal in basic editing.

Thanks.

Without spot editing all I can suggest is cropping it out of the image or just leaving it.

But I'm relatively new here.

Sometimes you can blend 'em with their surround by using selective color and fiddling with the color of the "whites"; depends on how the highlights look in the rest of the image.

thanks for the quick replies. Although cropping was the first thing I wanted to do, it is physically impossible since the largest speck is adjacent to a major element of the bridge.

It works fine for me... why can't you acess it?

Don't know. When I click on it I get the following message......

"Invalid Request. The administrators have been notified of this request."

I clicked on it three times so I guess I'm in trouble. Could also mean that I have to fork over $25 and become a memeber to access it too. Don't ask me I've only found out about this site 9 days ago.

LOL, You did it on purpose to get me to fork over my money. I know you did. It's all good though.

yeah, Discraft, I remember now reading that thread. At the time, I agreed with your opinion on allowing the dust/scratch editing in basic. Now, I'm really on that bandwagon.

I just don't see my bridge pic with dust bunnies getting anywhere near as good a score as the one without them. So, I'll not submit to Bridges II and hope that the next challenge will be interesting.

Just placed my order for a sensor cleaner from Copper Hill. Here's the link if any of you need it:

i think i'm not ordering that, it has to much to read. :) and i guess i am a little affraid of doing anything wrong and just ruin the camera. :( i would prefer software cleaning... but it seems i'll submit my dustty picture for everyone to critiue my dust bunnies. :)
