I like both photo's. I like the second one best, the lighting is prefect, with the dark under the fish and his head being the bright spot it really brings your attention to the front of the fish. The first one the bright spot is more toward the fin and the gill which makes my eye wander that way. I think if there was more in front of the fish which would give it a sense of direction or at least put his face more into the photo might be a bit better.

Beautiful lionfish. I like the second shot as well. You get the facial expression and it seems to pop more then the first. What kind of lion is it anyway... can't tell in B&W.

These are really awesome. I particularly like the second one where it appears to be scowling at the viewer! Neat shots.

They are Beautiful! Great expressions for a fish! Hehehe! What does the dolor look like, because I love the contrast and DOF also?

Taking your comments into consideration, here are the color versions, and a new uncropped version of the first. Please tell me what you think of these comparitively:

I like the second version you posterd in B&W with the fish facing left. With more of the shot in front of him it works so much better. Well done.

I definately prefer these in color - good job with the lighting, seems spot on! Great job!!

I think I need to get a few others on that list as well. I will be taking a look.
