I too am new to the site and even though I read through the rules, I missed the stipulation about the shutter time of the photo. I'm glad I know this now. |

Just a thought. |
Good suggestion Nathalie,
If no date were entered by default, and if the person neglected to enter the date of origin of their picture, then the picture could not be submitted. They would then have to go back and enter it in order to submit.

Being 'new' on the site is not an excuse... i'll never buy that one... there are rules.. there is a check box on the submission page that you check to confirm that you have read the rules. If you check that box without reading the rules, then there is no crying...

This guy has cast 200 votes... 3.26 average.
Why has he not returned to defend himself?
I question it being his photo.
This is someone I had rather not have vote on my entry. |

Was there NO part of that message that could have been saved. I'd sure like to know what this guy says about the issue (barring the offensive bits, I guess).

Sorry about the obscenities, however some of the comments on here have gone a bit far. I became a member with the recommendation of a friend. I may have missed a rule or two but did not think that I would get stoned on a FREE challenge site. Sounds to me like some people might be upset that the New Comer came in and took 13th place over them. I sure hope that you all have something better to do with your time. In response to the low % I have giving on my votes, maybe if I saw some good work there would get higher marks. |

I love how so frequently when people point out others who are not following the rules, it's only because everyone must be jealous of the undeniably stellar skills of the offender. |

I notice that you did not own up to the issue of the date on the photo in question.
Your comment that people might be upset because you took 13th place is patently ridiculous. Everyone who joins this site knows that there are rules on this here, and the majority of the people take the time to read the rules and play by the rules , and they expect others to have the courtesy to do the same.
To kidyin: rules are there for a reason and "infractions" SHOULD be brought to the attention of, at least the site administrators, if not the site in general. And if the "offender" has such stellar skills, then I can't see why they would need to "cheat" in the challenges.

Is it possible that you were so upset because even by cheating you could only come in 13th?

Does it matter that it is a free site? We are all here to play by the rules for the love of the "game". Missed a rule or two? Do you sign contracts for money owed to you without reading everything? Thirteeth place.... well, it doesn't matter to me if it is 13th, 1st, or last. If you truly take fine photographs, then we'd like to see them.. within the rules of the game. |

Give the guy a break. Have none of you ever jumped into something without reading the rules and regulations...you were exited to get something that you thought was good out for eveyone to see. I joined the site myself by the recommnedation of a friend and have been waiting for the right opertunity to get the right picture out there and was not aware of the DATE rule. I'm sure he is aware now. CHILL OUT PEOPLE!!!!! |

Of course I can only speak for myself, but I do imagine that every single person that posted here would have been 100% in support of the guy if he had just said "Hey, my mistake, sorry about that, it won't happen again !" But apparently the initial post that he DID make did not contain any such sentiments.
This is not the first time something like this has happened, and most people do generally "give the guy a break".

Exactly. I was adding to the conversation. Which is should remain - a conversation. Getting defensive and obscene is not the answer. |
