If you have everyone's email, can you send one message to all of us with the TIFF or JPEG attached? And it should be fine to use TIFF with LZW compression -- it is lossless and everyone on the list really ought to have editing software to open one. The only real reason for using JPEG is to hold people to the "distribute in unaltered form ..." part of the deal -- we'd each be able to adjust the JPEG compression ourselves if you use TIFF, although I doubt anyone would want to save it at less than optimum quality.

I don't think I can send an email over 10mb in size. A jpg saved at '12' in photoshop is lossless.

You could also create a BitTorrent for the file, then everyone could share the distribution bandwidth.

I need a backup volunteer to go ahead and shoot the two photos for J just in case. I need someone who hasn't already shot for this project. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you the information for the project...

Aha! We have it in writing...so we can count on a completed project by next week!

Perfect, that still gives me enough time to give these prints to my sister who is teaching Thailand for a year. She leaves in two weeks...

I need two photos.. one of an object that looks like a J and another of an object that starts with the letter J. If you want to work on these, please feel free. I'll wait till the weekend to give crab some more time, but if I don't have it by Sunday, I'm ready to move on with someone else. This project has been dragged out too long and I'm ready to put it to bed.

The dimensions for the first photo (object that looks like the letter J) are 2.75x4.5 @ 300dpi (black and white). The second photo (object that starts with the letter J) are 2.75x3 @ 300dpi (color).

John, how's the project coming? Please let us know if you need anything else before distributing the final product. Thanks, -len.

I have to put together a distributable version of the releases. I'm working on that and should be finished this week.

John

I wrote to you last month offering full original hosting and password controll for the contributors.

This should avoid any amendments from your end,,,,,

What about the flags collaborative project, John? ( I can't seem to find that thread anywhere)

That project is at a standstill. Some of the volunteers failed to produce and I haven't found new volunteers for those states.

I thought it would be a good idea, but as much work as I have to put into this on my side to chase down volunteers, that project will probably go stale.
