How many of you have ribboned but not had your ribbon winner selected by anyone as a favorite? After 2632 views and 33 comments, my 2nd place entry is sadly noone's favorite. BOOHOOO, WAAAHH!!! :-(.
[Yeah, I'm whining. I'm having a down day here at work and needed a diversion...:-) ....And, truth be told, a string of apple peelings probably won't look good on many walls...]
Seriously, I'm not really complaining, just curious. I'm sure mine isn't the only one..

I think this phenomenon is best explained in terms of the challenge itself. The photo meets the challenge with a lot of strength, but the appeal, in my case, didn't go far beyond that. It is a nice photo, but I couldn't find any emotive value.

I agree, John. Not to demean the challenge, but I was sort of half-heartedly enthused by placing high in a "non-ribbon winner" challenge...
I'm still curious as to whether there are other ribbon-winners that have not been selected as favorites. It seems that, by definition, if you're among the winners (of any challenge) you're "favored".
[BTW, this is NOT meant as a back-handed way of begging to be so selected - really!]

Awww, what the heck. You live in Tonowanda. You're freezing and shoveling snow, and listening to the wind coming off the lake. Your photograph shouldn't be alone. Your apples are now in my favorites...

Gee, I don't know what to say, Alice. How's "Thanks!!" Now I feel much better. ...And, you're right about freezing. The temp here is in the single digits, we have over a foot of snow, more on the way. But, now that I know someone out there in sunny California loves (?!) the pic of my little apple peeler, life is good!! lol

How much more a-peeling can you get? ;-) |

Sorry, Len, the closest I got was a fourth place finish with no favorites. :-( |

Not any more... ;-) I love bizarre images like that (...no offense meant to six-fingured souls).
