Well on wednesday morning I am going in to have knee surgery.
Thankfully its nothing major, but i do have a tear in The lateral meniscus.
Due to this problem I have been having a hard time with a lot of photos as I like to get much lower on most shots and for the last month and 1/2 I have not been able to walk or squat very well.
this is my very first surgery so im not looking forward to it.

As long as you follow the doctor's orders and follow through with rehab, I am sure you'll do fine.

Modern surgical techniques are nothing short of a miracle. You'll be up and about in no time, and back to walking normally soonafter. I am looking forward to seeing some nice low-angle shots from you before long.

I've been through 4 knee surgeries, all major! I've had reoccurring bone tumors in my right tibia and femur. Basically, the ends of the bones where my knee joins, I have tumors and every few years they go in and remove the tumors and replace it with bone cement.
Piece of cake! You'll do fine. Nowadays, you're in and out in a couple of days.
Good luck, my friend! Cheers....Martin

Do the physical therapy dude don't skip it. It is more important then the surgery. I tore the cartilage in both my knees back before they had little pac mans to go in with. They used a knife on my left knee and recovery time was well over three months. They were going to wait until my left knee was strong again before they cut the other. In the mean time I was stretching and lifting wieghts with both legs. By the time my left knee was better I was having no pain or lock-ups with my other knee.
I still do leg lifts and keep the hamstrings stretched and have had no problems at all from either knee since.
That was 27 years ago.

Hi and I wish you the best. I also had a lateral meniscus tear but luckily we have a wonderful hospital here [Hughston Orthopaedics and sports medicine hospital] where a lot of major league player have work done and I did not tear mine bad. It was painful when I did it, it felt like the bone in my lower leg was going to go through my knee cap when I tried to walk or bend it. I went straight to a local hospital and was sent to The Hughtson Clinic the next day. Luckily I did not have to have surgery, but did have to go through 16 weeks of PT. No problems now.
Hope yours turns out well

thanks every one, no I wont be taking pics of the surgery, they are putting me under.
Yes I will be doing physical therapy, no doubt about that. They gave me a CPM machine to bring home so I can put my leg in it as soon as I get home, plus the ice cooler thingy. THey are using the scope to do the procedure with so I will go in at 8 am and be home by noon.
I just wish I would have had this done sooner. I have been having problems for a few years now off and on.

Thanks and yes it is a bitch getting old. after I recover fully Im going to start riding my bike again for exercise. A few years ago I was realy out of shape and needed bigger clothes. So I bought a bike (Trek 7200 hybrid) and rode it almost every day and lost 40 lbs in 8 months. the last 3 months I rode I was riding 25 miles a day and 30 miles on Sat @ Sun.
