I was wondering ... if we could increase to 200k for each picure ?
When I increased the compression of the jpeg for mypîcture to be below 150k I thought (and I think I have seen that in picture this week) that pencil heads were getting a little 'blurry' bu the compression. It's visible or not depending on the picture ...
But typing that .. I am thinking that I amnot sure it would change the quality of the photo by itself.
I am new so maybe it is the case, but could we allow the top 3 to have like 500k for their pictures if they would like to ?
ANyway .. congratulations for this site !!!!!

One thing to keep in mind is that there are a lot of users who connect over dialup to vote (there are still many places where high-speed Internet is unavailable). In this week's challenge, if the average submission size where increased by 40KB, it would take a user connecting over a 28.8K dialup connection almost 45 additional minutes to vote.

You need to make sure you've resized your image down to 640x480 first,
and then you probably need to sharpen the image once you've done that.

After that you shouldn't really see any problems compressing it down
to a 150k JPEG. If you have an example of a picture with obvious
problems at 150k I'd really like to see it as I haven't seen problems
so far...

OK .. make sense for the bandwith.
And I resized the picture after a little sharpening ...
I will try it that way on my picture before posting it here.
THanks for the input
