Now that I see I chose the wrong photo yet again for the candid challenge and came in 50th place, which one would you have chosen?

I like your choice! I was going to use that one at first but then I saved it for the best of 2004. Of course now I decided not to use it for that either so I figured I'd put it up on here to share. Thanks for looking.

I liked this one also!
but it probably wouldn't have done any better than the original.

I'm surprised at how low your entry placed!
It was one of my favs :)

I really like these also:

But I'm one that thinks outside the box some times ROFLOL

Very nice work.

thanks...but that's yours! lol
which one of mine did you like most?
for what it's worth though, i think the one you submitted was extraordinary and I really thought it was going to get a ribbon. This shot is excellent too but not nearly as good as the one you chose.

yeah, aren't you the one who submitted a wonderful photo that had no people in it?

you're living on the edge! :)

I LOVE the feel of the christmas tree shot! There were so many good shots in that challenge. I just LOVE people pictures though!

Hey they were in the subway train and down at the train station :)

ROFLOL

I was happy with it.

ABSOLUTELY...great lighting and composition...would have done well in my books.

I TOTALLY agree! What a wonderful shot! I just love the emotion and warmth! Thats a 10 from me FOR SURE!

Well I'm glad everyone seems to be in agreement about the best shot. Now I almost wished I had saved it for the Best of 2004 challenge but I'm happy with the older shot that I chose.

My damn dial up makes things slow, but those were all excellent! The thumbnails don't do em justice! Great stuff Jason!

I think this one would have scored highest with me, but a lot of them fit the topic well.

thanks coolhar. intersting choice. not many people have appreciated that photo.

I like the one you chose for the challenge best. I gave it an 8. Looking at it again I would probably score it higher. "The man in the painting" is nice but not my cup o' tea. My second pick would be "just this guy"

I also agree about this. Way cool dark image. The tones are awesome.

I had these 2 outtakes.. one of the same girl on the phone(I only got the 2 shots!) which may even have done better than the one I entered and the other one of a girl sleeping on her work bench, quite funny to see her sleeping whilst the customers milled around, looking for someone to help.

Hard to say, but I think you may be right. Great shot(s) by the way.

Actually prefer the shot you entered although both the shot's of the girl are good

This was my first entry but subbed it for my entry below a bit of a difference and it didn't do as well as I hoped

Gibun: I really liked the shot you submitted. The depth of field and motion are outstanding.

PeterC: I agree that a different crop of the first photo would have done better even though I personally prefer your second shot. I think your shot suffered from the same things as mine did. People tend not to like darker grainier stuff on here. Vibrant colors are always a plus. It's funny for me to look at my profile cause all my brightest photos show up since they are my top scoring ones but my moodier black and whites are my actual favorites.

dacrazyrn: Nice outtakes, I think some of them were stronger images than the one you used. I also agree that anything of a 2 year old could well be considered candid. :)

Had a scan of your portfolio some v nice B&W, I think I fell for going with my heart on the choice rather than my head, but I'm chuffed with all the positive comments and the 10's, I think had of cropped the colour image as suggested I might well of chosen it just lacked the vision cheers again
