Like both, each seems to tell a different story...but for impact it has to be B&W. |

I like the B&W but I think I would add a little more contrast. Could just be me though. I like more than normal contrast when it comes to B&W... |

There is a rather simple solution to this question in most cases. You have to ask yourself:
Is the color adding impact to the image?
If it is, it may work best in color. If not, it may work best as a b/w. In some cases, they work well both ways.

I would make it b/w colored in the original sepiaish tones of the color version. Overall the latter has a very warm and nice feel, but color of the plants and paintings is distracting imo. |

I prefer the B&W, but then I tend to favor B&W overall. :-)

There's such a wide range of very soft colors in the color version -- it helps set the mood. I like the color one better, personally.

I like the B & W. The people look more ghostly. |

Perhaps adding a golden tint to the black and white one would set the mood perfectly

I prefer the warm colors, they help set the scene and really belong there. Then again, I usually prefer color anyway.
Some images BEG to be in b&w, but far too often they seem to just follow the trendy fad of the moment (b&w).
I was just pondering about the people who first figured out how to make colored pictures..... wonder how they feel about this black and white trend *grin*
Please don't bite me, b&w fans, its just personal preference. |

It CRIES to be a sepia-flasvored duotone.
Robt.
