I am interested in how different original photos are from the entered photo. Here are my examples from the Classy Holiday Decoration challenge.

original Submitted

Interested on your preferences/commets etc.

Thanks
Mike

I like the original better, but you did very well in the challenge - probably just a personal preference.

I like the look of the original. The other is too blue IMHO. I scored your photo a 6. The composition didn't sit well with me but the clarity and subject is great!

My original is only resized but here's an edited version. I wanted to submit it with the color change (minus the cloned stars) because I thought the white and gold was more classy. The subject is more classical than classy, anyway, so I stuck with the original version.

Sorry Mike, I guess I killed your thread! I still think this is a great idea for learning how to fine tune photos. I had hoped others would post.

That is some really great editing. I would have thrown the original and tried to reshoot it with something like +1 or +1.5 exposure. Did you select the background and dodge it ? what's color dodge ?

I duplicate the backgrond layer and put the blending mode to screen. Then I dodged the background. After that only contrast and saturation.
